1. CIRCULATION SERVICES
Responsible for the checking out (borrowing), checking in (returning), renewal, recall
and
overdue fines computation of library materials through the circulation desk.
Book Borrowing Drive-Thru
Students and Faculty can borrow books by contacting the library through the following:

Borrowers can pick-up the book/s at the library drive-thru area near Gate 3 (Bolton
campus); Gravahan Gate and Maa Gate (Matina Campus).
Online Document Delivery Service for Book Returns
Students and faculty may return all borrowed books through the LIBRARY BOOK DROPS
placed
at
the entrance gate of the University of Mindanao-Main Campus (Gate 3 – UM Bolton; Gravahan and Maa
Gates–Matina Campus).
Online Document Delivery
It is an electronic delivery of document service provided to all bona fide students and
faculty upon request. They can request a scanned copy of book pages (not more than 10% of the book) free
of charge.

2. Virtual
Reference Service
This service provides assistance, guidance, and instruction to users in accessing and
retrieving information as well as help users prepare bibliography of all forms of information resources
via online platform.
Online Research and Reference Assistance
(ORRA)
ORRA is our virtual reference assistance service wherein librarians can answer questions
about research and assignment of students, library account, downloading e-books, and other library-related
queries via chat and email.

3. Periodical
Services
Provide local and foreign journals, magazines, newspapers; and, clippings from newspapers
and ephemeral materials. Periodical materials with completed issues are bound and indexed for easy access.

4. Provision of Filipiniana materials
LIC provides books on various subjects or topics in Philippine setting, or any topic
related
to the Philippines regardless of author and imprint.

5. Provision of UMiana Materials
Provide information about the University of Mindanao, its founder, achievements and
publications.

6. Cultural Heritage Resource Center and Mindanaoan Materials
Features various materials about the cultural heritage of Mindanao.

7. Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Knowledge Resource Network (BSP-KRN)
A program promoting the understanding of essential economic and financial concepts and
issues through the exchange of information resources between the BSP library and UM Learning and
Information Center. This collaboration offers publications from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas for the
utilization of students of the University of Mindanao.

8. Provision of UN/ADB/WB collections
Provides publications of United Nations, Asian Development Bank and World Bank.

9. Donation Corner
Provides area for the display of books donated by the Friends of the Library.

10. Online Information Literacy Program
Video presentations of the following topics are uploaded in the Google Classroom for
sharing
to the students and faculty. Virtual orientation is conducted via the Zoom Application.
General Library Instruction
Instructional program that aims to teach patrons on how to locate the information they
need
quickly and effectively thru the following:
- How to access the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) – Creating Destiny accounts to view
and maximize the features of the OPAC.
- Online instruction on the new normal library services.
Bibliography Making
Teach students how to write a bibliography for a research paper.
Online Database Instruction
Teach students how to access and create account on the subscribed online databases
namely:
Proquest E-book Central, Wiley Online Library, ACM Digital Library, Proquest Central, Philippine
E-journals, Gale Reference Complete and Odilo Digital Library.

11. Resource Sharing Service
Provide referral letters for students planning to use the library facilities of other
institutions. Likewise, the LIC caters users from other institutions with referral letters from their
respective heads of libraries.

12. Current Awareness Service (CAS)
Provides updates to new acquisitions and events of the LIC through the library website,
FB
page and bulletin board display.
